Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. This is due to the fact that the American Indian tribes of Oklahoma have provided Bingo sessions for decades. Guests from every one of the nearby states pile in vans and visit Oklahoma to play Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act became law after a landmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year prior. Since that time, twenty three of the thirty nine Amerindian tribes located in Oklahoma have established gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma American Indian band to take advantage of the gambling rules, and today control ten gambling halls of their own. Bingo is the game on which these gambling dens were built on. automated games like slot machines were not authorized, because they’re believed to contribute to gambling problems at a higher rate than bingo.
In recent years, Oklahoma rules has changed to permit large American Indian betting gambling halls. You will now find Indian gambling dens with slot machines, video poker and chemin de fer tables. Craps and roulette are not yet allowed in the Indian gambling dens as of yet, although that is just a matter of time. Nobody can say what having different games in the bingo houses will do for the draw of bingo.
