Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. That is due to the fact that the Amerindian tribes of Oklahoma have operated Bingo games for decades. Patrons from all of the surrounding states pile in vans and visit Oklahoma to bet on Bingo for the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) was introduced after a precedent setting ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. Since that instance, 23 of the thirty nine Indian bands of Oklahoma have established gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the betting laws, and today control 10 gambling halls of their very own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned gambling halls were founded. Electronic games like one armed bandits were not approved, owing to the fact that they are believed to contribute to gambling dependency more than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma law have altered to allow for gigantic American Indian gaming casinos. You will now see American Indian casinos with one armed bandits, video poker and twenty-one tables. Craps and roulette are not yet allowed in the American Indian gambling dens as of yet, however this is simply a waiting game. Nobody can say with what having different casino games in the bingo parlors will do for the draw of bingo.
