Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That is because the Native bands of Oklahoma have run Bingo games for ages. Clients from many of the neighboring states get in automobiles and travel to Oklahoma to enjoy Bingo for the weekends.

The 1988 IGRA followed a precedent setting determination by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. Since that instance, 23 of the thirty nine American Indian tribes of Oklahoma have introduced bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Native band to take advantage of the betting rules, and today operate 10 gambling halls of their very own. Bingo is the game on which these gambling halls were built on. computerized games such as slot machine games were not authorized, owing to the fact that they are believed to contribute to gambling dependency more than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma governing edicts has changed to allow for gigantic Native betting casinos. You will now find American Indian gambling halls with slots, video poker and black jack tables. Craps and roulette are not yet allowed in the Native gambling halls yet, but that is simply a waiting game. No one can determine whether having other games in the bingo parlors will do for the popularity of bingo.
