Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That’s owing to the fact that the Amerindian tribes of Oklahoma have operated Bingo games for years. Guests from each of the surrounding states get in cars and visit Oklahoma to bet on Bingo over the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) followed a landmark decision by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. From that time, twenty three of the 39 Amerindian tribes located in Oklahoma have introduced bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Amerindian band to take advantage of the gaming laws, and today control ten casinos of their own. Bingo is the game on which these gambling halls were built on. computerized games such as one armed bandits were not permitted, since they’re thought to contribute to gambling dependency more than bingo.

In recent years, Oklahoma law has changed to allow for big Indian wagering casinos. You will now see American Indian gambling halls with one armed bandits, video poker and 21 tables. Craps and roulette are not allowed in the Native gambling halls as of yet, however that is simply a waiting game. Nobody can authority what having other games in the bingo houses will do for the appeal of bingo.
